时间

    一位天文学家说：先知，关于时间，你是怎样看的呢？

    他于是答道：

    你们要测量无法也无从测量的时间。

    你们想依照时辰和季节调整你们的行为，甚至引导你们的精神。

    你们想挖掘一条时间的溪流，然后坐在岸边目送淙淙流水。

    然而，你内心那不受限制的灵魂，却意识到了生命的无限，

    并且明白昨日不过是今日的回忆，明日不过是今日的梦想。

    在你们心中歌唱和冥思的，仍然居于最初繁星满布于星空的那一瞬间。

    你们之中有谁会感觉不到爱的力量无边？

    有谁会感觉不到爱虽然无边，却萦绕在他周围，无法在相异之爱的思绪中流转，也无法在爱的行为中挪移？

    时间难道不正如爱一般，不可分割而又无边无际吗？

    但你们若认为必须用季节来衡量时间，

    那就让每一个季节都蕴涵其他的季节。让今天用回忆拥抱过去，用渴望拥抱未来。

    And an astronomer said, “Master, what of Time?”

    And he answered:

    You would measure time the measureless and the immeasurable.

    You would adjust your conduct and even direct the course of your spirit according to hours and seasons.

    Of time you would make a stream upon whose bank you would sit and watch its flowing.
